Nha Trang
I love this town. The beach is beautiful, the city is clean with lots of great interesting landscaping and architecture and I have a great room. The sun shines through the day - the humidity is the lowest anywhere in Vietnam and the evenings are a little too cool for me but make it easy to sleep without aircon.
Rented a bike today and of course, got lost. Really lost. Thought for sure I was heading back towards the ocean and ended up in the country - real country with rice paddies and water buffalos. The ride was frantic at moments and serene at others. The traffic is chaos but it actually was a little thrilling to conquer it. I put myself into the wild pack, motorcycles coming at all angles - no one really following any rules - some stop at red lights, most don't, and some drive in the direction of the roadway, some drive right at you in the wrong lane. I had a riot chancing tragedy with every traffic circle and there are a lot of traffic circles.....except where there are fields and buffalos.
I think the pictures speak for themselves. The variety of landscapes and scenes has been rich. Lots of public exercise - everywhere a game breaking out, or a bunch of seniors doing calisthenics. Nice
Had dinner with a charming young German girl - recently graduated Doctor, doing a weird combo of countries before heading back to school to become an anesthesiologist. Doing Vietnam, Australia, Peru and Canada. Eclectic.
Tomorrow night booked on the night bus to Hoi An - 10 hours.
