One October morning a seat sale for Cuba came across my work computer. Being the resident bargain hunter for travel - both mine and others, I called the friend who had asked me to keep an eye out for a Cuban deal. She was not at her desk - I left a voice mail. I told a different friend and she said "why don't we go?"  Never having had an interest in going to Cuba before, I gave it a couple of seconds thought....Why not? Hadn't been there before so couldn't think of a reason not to score the bargain. Friend 2 and I called in our booking for a January departure. An hour later friend 1 called back after hearing the deal and asked me to go with her.....hmmm.....that would make three - an uneven number. She called someone else.....then there were 5, then there was 7, a few calls later and there was 9 and finally just before cutoff at 5 pm - there were 10 of us booked for a week in Cuba the following January.
The next day the phone rang off the hook with 10 more who heard of the great deal and wanted in.....nope....nada....was just a one day great Travelzoo.ca deal.
