Glenn's Travels
So, the tour is over and I've moved on. To be honest, I was happy enough to be leaving Singapore, as it didn't really seem to me to be that great, but I know that some of the other guys loved it. Admittedly, the night safari at Singapore Zoo was fun, but for me, that was about it really. I was sad at leaving the other guys in the group though. Anyway, I left Singapore on Sunday night, flying to Bali. So far, I've been having a good time, doing as little as possible. The hotel I'm staying at (Bakung Sari) is decent enough, no complaints, and has a pool, which is a bonus. I don't plan on doing much over the next couple of days, just relaxing as much as possible, and trying not to burn. I am going to try to surf tomorrow - what a great place for it - the waves are huge!! Nothing else planned really. I head to Cairns, Australia on Sunday, where I have my scuba course, so that's going to be a busy week. I might as well as take it easy until then. As for Bali itself - the weather's good, not as hot as the last three weeks. Not at all busy - I think the recent Tsunami in Java a couple of weeks ago has put people off. One thing I've noticed is how agressive some of the shopkeepers are - literally pulling you by the arm inside. You just have to smile and never ever make eye contact. I have learned my lesson. That's about it really. I'm having a good time and enjoying the chance to do nothing for a while. Bliss.
