On Monday 7th we got up from our massive bed and headed out for a walk around the casino's. We spent the first hour trying to find our way out of ours, then headed across the road to another, then on to MGM Grand, having a little gamble in each casino as we went. We worked our way up the strip nipping in and out of casino's with Rachel looking at stalls along the way, trying on more pretty dresses. When we reached a little stall selling hair straightener's she got excited and sat on the chair for them to show her how good they were. While she was sitting enjoying getting her hair straightened I managed to haggle the guy down from $240 to $150 with some free conditioner, shampoo, case, and some other product that I have no idea what it is but Rachel says its really good. We then worked our way all the way along one side of the strip, stopping at Paris and having another little gamble on the slots before turning round and heading back to get changed. After putting our smartest clothes on…… combats and walking shoes, we headed out for the classy Hooters restaurant for some tasty chicken wings. We then had a little gamble on the slots there getting some free drinks before heading back up the strip for some more plays on the slots and some more free drinks and to see a few of the fountain performances outside the Bellagio. We finally made it back to our room and crashed out about 2 in the morning.
On the Tuesday we got up tired and headed to the buffet place for breakfast as we had decided to take them up on there offer of all you can eat all day buffet for $32 (£22). We stuffed ourselves then headed to the hotel pool to laze in the nice cold pool water, and the hotel Jacuzzi water for a bit in the adult only section of the pool. After a while they opened the slide pool and we headed there for a couple of goes on the slide before doing a bit of a swim then sunbathing. We then headed back up to the room for a shower before having a couple of bets on the slots then heading back to the Buffet to stuff our stomachs some more. Afterwards we waddled along the street nipping in and out of casino's, partially to gamble and partially to get out of the roasting heat into the nice air-conditioned casino's. When we were about half way along we nipped into a place selling show tickets and decided to see the original cirque du soleil that evening. We booked the tickets, paid and then they told us we had to claim them at the Ticket office in the Treasure Island casino by 5:00 to guarantee we would be sitting next to each other………Treasure Island was at the far end of the strip………..I looked at my watch………..it was 4:30. I left Rachel behind and legged it up the strip in the roasting heat with no water, fighting through the crowds all the way to Treasure islands. I then had to work my way through the maze that is the casino until I finally found the Ticket office just before 5, unfortunately there was a big queue. I queued up and handed me ticket over puffing and panting. He then offered me 2 places we could sit which were right on the last row. I took the ones in the middle of the back row. Then headed to the water fountain and spent 5 minutes re-hydrating. Finally Rachel arrived after she had had her nice stroll up the strip and we had a couple of bets before heading back to our hotel via some wheel spin gambling games, to stuff ourselves some more at the buffet. Afterwards we needed to head back up to the far end of the strip again back to Treasure Island, which took around an hour…….I'm sure we must have done enough miles to make up a marathon by then. We got to the entrance and the queue was massive, we walked towards the end……….. we finally saw the end of the line and went towards it………then some more people walked up to it………so we headed to the new end……..then some more people walked up to it……….so we headed to the new end………then some more people walked up to it. Realising we were fighting a loosing battle we gave in and just sat playing on a slot machine until the queue died down a bit and we could head in. We found our seats, right at the back and sat down.
We then watched as a grey guy walked round the audience doing strange/funny things such as taking someone's popcorn and giving it to someone else, following really closely behind people to there seats, taking peoples popcorn and throwing it over other people, leading people round and round saying he was taking them to their seats, etc, etc, thankfully he didn't pick on us. We still haven't worked out if he was part of the show or just some random guy. The show then started with all sorts of amazing circus acrobatic acts and couple of funny giant baby's walking around as it was a story about a baby who wasn't allowed to go to the circus so dreamt what it would be like going to a circus instead. It was really impressive. Afterwards we headed out to the front of Treasure Island where they had a pirate ship. A show then started with one pirate ship then on the opposite side another pirate ship sailed in and then there was a battle with water splashing everywhere, then one of the ships sank, then they had fireworks at the end, pretty cool for a free show. We then headed back into the casino for a gamble, before heading back along the strip in and out of casino's, popping in and out for a bet and free drinks. We finally got back and to bed around 2ish.
The next day (Wednesday 9th) we had a bit of a lie in before heading out and spending the last full day in Vegas popping in and out of casino's again, gambling on the slots. This time we decided to have a few goes on the tables, so I went on a Roulette table for the first time in Vegas and lost, and Rachel went on a Black Jack table for the first time and lost, but it was all great fun. Since the Buffet was so great we decided to head back again for dinner, mmmmmmm. Then we had a go at the oxygen bar where we got a free back, neck and head message all for $12, which was pretty good. We had decided not to gamble too late as we had to get up for the shuttle the next day. So we had a couple of bets in New York New York, then headed back to the room, unfortunately by that point it was 2 in the morning again.
