hi everyone!
sorry its been ages since the last update. being on the road has meant updating has been tricky!
hope all the dads reading had a good fathers day and all the lads who are doing exams had good ones!! since being in NZ we have done quite a bit of stuff, ill give you a good little summary, im writing from lake taupo in north island. its nice scenery here and we plan to drive a little further north to rottarowa in the last few days here.
after arriving in Nz and meeting woodkats mate chief, we head south east from christchurch to banks peninsula, we didnt bother driving teh whole way butfar enough to get a good view and look at the scenery. we then drove south ( i learnt how to drive an automatic pretty quickly, its well easy!) towards Queenstown, on the way we stopped at lots of supermarkets and subways, we also did a walk around mount cook, looked around in wanaka at a rouche mountainee and the lake, and the boys did some clay pigeon shooting and we also visisted wacky world!! all good fun. we then stopped in twizel before getting to queenstown. twizel was foggy and freezing, woodkat hated it! we then got to queenstown, here we did a luge at the top of a hill, went out a couple of nights and visisted milford sound. milford sound was ace , we saw loads of huge waterfalls and great views. chief then left and headed back north. woodkat and i chilled a couple more days in queenstown, having starbucks and subways mostly! we then drove up the west coast to franzjoseff and fox glacier. we did a glacier walk which was amazing and got some good photos (posted shortly). we then went up to grymouth and pancake rocks, also good.
we left grymouth and headed back to christchurch where we met up with a friend called kris and looked around lots of antique shops and a little international food market, mususem and arts centre. from christchurch we head to kaikoura. here we went wine tasting which was ace, and i went whale watching! saw lots of sperm whales and wnadering albatross (4 metre wing span)!!!! we then left kris and headed to picton for the ferry north, after a day in wellington at the national musuem, parliment buldings and gardens we left for here! thats it really, looking forward to the last couple days here and then fiji sun. we 'll be updating when in fiji.
nic well done on finishing matey, nice one. jonny keep plugging awya with work mate hope its all going smoothly (book ya flights mate!) - your packages will be arriving shortly lads!! hahah!!
