Hello Everyone!
So we have officially began our trip, after a long ( but nice) flight and a VERY long wait at passport checks in Bangkok airport ( it was absolute chaos and sweaty!!) we have arrived at our hotel in sukhumuit, Bnagkok. Just getting used to our surroundings and living out of a bag, but due to lack of sleep we are going to browse around here for the rest of the night and head to the shops tomorrow before we head 0to hanoi, Vietnam on Friday ( we are about 7 hours ahead). First impressions of Bangkok ( from the airport to the hotel) is nice, quite smoggy ( everyone at the airport wears face masks ha!) but there are some nice little street stalls and thai buildings, il update you tomorrow on the real bangkok! So unitll then we are off to catch up on some much needed sleep!! Will update again soon. Lots of love!!x
Well today was our first real day in Bangkok and we started off in style by having rice for brekkie!! we then caught the skytrain into the centre of town and had a browse around about 1 of 10 shopping malls! It was a buddha national holiday here today so a nice tuk tuk man ( its like a mo-ped with a carriage on the back) took us to the buddha temple ( where we went and were happy, as apparently if your happy he brings you goodluck and wealth), the tuk tuk man then took us one of the biggest malls in thailand, there mad on shopping here, and he stopped about 5 times around the little villages, and at souvenir shops etc ( he has to do that, they try to make yo by stuff!) but me and gizz are getting pretty good at saying no ha! the people are really polite and just enjoy your custom, he then took us to yeat another mall, ha ha shop shop shop!!! basically the tuk tuk driving us around all day and waiting for us for about an hour in each place was 80baht, (about $2) it so cheap, we had chicken curry and spicy pork for lunch, with drinks in a resturant for about $4. bangkok is a brilliant place but not the prettiest with loads going on, its so developed upto what we were expecting, and the shops are clean, theres something for everyone, there are poeple on nearly every corner selling food and cooking noodles or scewers on lttle bbq's. these look dirty but people seem to be eating it alot so must be ok. Lets see what Hanoi has to offer x
