Hi all,
We are having a great time in Turkey. Soaking up the sun and swimming the the crystal blue water off the Turkish coast. First we spent a few nights in Istanbul. It was a lot more European that i expected and a lot more expensive than we were planning on it being. We caught up with Leigh and Rachael over a few beers will watching Turkey in the football. So far Turkey has made it through to the Semi finals in the Euro so the Turkish people are very excited at the moment. We took a trip our to Gallipoli and visited Anzac Cove. Ironically, Anzac Cove is so beautiful. It was quite moving and you can see from the ruggered terrain leading from the shores up the sheer cliff faces that we wouldn't have had any chance of winning that battle.
From Gallipoli, Leigh and Rach went back to London and Trent and i continued down the west coast to start our beach hopping. We have been to many beautiful beaches and we went on a day boat trip around some of the small islands around the main land. The water is so clear and the sun isn't as harsh as QLD so i haven't got burned yet but i am working on a tan.
We were going to hope on over to Rhodes (Greek Island) for a week but the cost involved in getting there and then the price if accom over there is quite high so we decided to keep the week up our sleeve and head overland to Serbia for a week when we get to Budapest. Should be interesting!
So today we are off to our last coastal town of Olympos. After that we visit indland Turkey before heading back to Istanbul to fly to Budapest.
Till next time.
Cheers - Giselle.
