Yes thats right everyone - we are home. HOME SWEET HOME.
Originally we had another 2 weeks planned in Hawaii but for work reasons we decided to cut our trip short by 2 weeks and head home. Of course, I didn't tell my sisters and decided to surprise them - and it worked. We arrived home on the morning of Sunday Oct 19th. My parents picked us up from the airport and we headed back to their place for a family gathering. When we walked through the front door at my mums no one could believe their eyes and the kids went crazy.
Trent and I had an absolute ball travelling the world together and I would love to do it all over again. It is nice to come home to our beautiful families and friends whom we are both looking forward to catching up with as soon as possible.
There is no place like home. Many of the countries we visited don't have the freedoms, luxuries, or natural surroundings that we do here in Australia. I love living in a country where we vote for our leaded, we have freedom of speech, women have the right to do, say and wear what they want and have equal opportunities. A county where we have freedom to choose our religion, have more than 1 baby and choose who we marry. Unlike many countries we visited we have a free medical system, welfare programs, a sewage system and a free and equal education for all. For those that winge about our medical, welfare and education system - take a trip to India, China, Morocco to name a few and then see how you feel. We have no child labour, shopping centres and supermarkets were you can buy everything you need in the one store. We do great cuisine from all over the globe, we have top infrastructure, a wonderful climate and an abundance of natural beauty.
Every time we go to another country we both realise just how lucky we are. We have eachother, we have our families and we have our friends. But not only that we also have our health, good jobs and an education, a beautiful home, and very importantly we have freedom. So many people in this world are less fortunate than us.
Thank you to everyone for keeping up with our blog - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed our global adventure.
Giselle and Trent. XOXOXO
