PatongOur of all the places I have seen in Thailand I think Patong was by far my least favourite! It was full of old men, seedy clubs and men carrying lizards in the streets... not nice! The hostel I stayed in was a little out of the way which I preferred as the area was alot nicer, also it has a pool and was ran by a really nice family! I spent most of the time shopping as there is a hugh shopping mall that has just been built, and everything has fixed prices so no haggling which was such a nice change!There are water shows outside the mall to as they hav big fountains, its quite pretty!I spent a little time on the beaches, but compared to Kata it was very dissapointing as there were far to many people! I saw a guys asleep on a bench, burnt to a crip and drunk which was definately my signal to leave!I caught the new James Bond movie at the cinema, which was strange because we had to stand up after the trailers and pay respect to some president! I also had a thai massage not far from my hotel which was something I felt I had to experience while being over here! It was actually realy good and it was a really nice homely looking girl which made me alot more comfotable after the many stories i have heard about massage parlours from other travellers!!!Overall Patong was dissapointing, but I am still glad I was able to see the nightlife in its full glory!
