D-day. We had a punctual start with a 8:30 breakfast (we were told 8:15 due to our poor time keeping skills!) Our day of exploring Marrakech started with a horse and carriage ride through the streets. This made us feel as though we were right in the middle of the bustle of the city. We then proceeded to the tannerie. The aroma was quite awful to say the least; so much so we were handed mint to smell before we entered but it didn't quite relieve us of the pain. Watching them make the leather was really interesting and being called Shakira, Lady Gaga and the Spice Girls was fun! The fact we were offered boyfriends on more than one occasion added to the entertainment.
Next on Sidi's packed agenda was a trip to the local chemist. Here we were served mint tea #standard as we were talked through all the spices and oils they have to offer (what's in them, what they are used for and how to use them). We could have easily spent all afternoon there!
We walked through the souks, picking up last minute presents and souvenirs with the second haggling experience not being much more successful than the first (It was our English politeness obviously). After we were all spent up, we headed back to the hostel for a much needed lunch (tagliatelle with a very creamy sauce) and then finished packing ready for the flight.
Since then we have arrived at the airport, managed to make it through security without too much hassle and all had some delicious airport food...pizza, chips and burgers! And with the Video Star finished we are so excited to show everyone the finished product. We are now currently on the plane and about to land in about an hour which is not long!
We are all sad to leave as we have had such a fab experience and wish we could stay but the 10 days have been jam packed so we are all fully exhausted and ready to see our families, sleep in our own bed and drink regular English tea (even the simplest things make such a difference)!
Over and out for the last time on our travels,
Libby, Lucy and Emily W on behalf of Team Morocco 2015
