Hello all, so we have finally found a place where there is an internet connection!! Although we are not using the campsite's computers, because they are too expensive, instead Glen, one of the guys on the tour has lent us his laptop - all nicely broken into their wireless connection!!
Right best go from the beginnning - the flight was terrible!! got no sleep at all, and ended up waiting for about 2.5 hrs in Jo'berg for our transfer!! We arrived at the hostel and just found our beds and crashed out to the sound of ........ THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!! it was pouring it down.
The next day we packed up the truck and headed off for a nice 10 hr drive or something to the first campsite - which was really wicked - photos will follow as soon as we can!
We did a night time game drive which was wicked, saw 4 of the big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino [didnt see leopard]) as well as antelopes, giraffes, baboons etc
The next day we did a 12 hr game drive in Kruger national park, and it was BAKING!!! Up to 48 degrees, and to be honest really dragged all afternoon, i was sleeping for most of the afternoon leaving sarah to take the heat!!!
Trying to remember what we did day by day is pretty tough, but we have been doing an awful lot of driving, generally 6-12 hrs a day in the truck!! everyone at the sides of the road are so friendly and always waving as we go past, and staring!!
Other highlights - a cruise viewing game which was pretty crap, and on thirsday we did a sunset cruise (to everyone but our parents that was a booze cruise!! free alcohol for 2 hrs!!)
we both got absolutely ruined, obviously i was more drunk as always and wondered off on my own to fall in a swimming pool with sarahs camera in my pocket, and i broke it :-(!! so i am in soooooo much trouble at the moment!!! Also we left the tent door open for a bit and we both got totally massacred by mozzies, mine dont bother me, but sarah's have all swollen up and are really sore and itchy!!! poor little thing!!!
also saw vic falls, but there wasnt much water there as its dry season, but was still pretty cool!
Yesterday, whilst very very hungover we went to this massive gorge, where we did abseiling, rap jumping (forward abseiling facing the floor!!!) both over 50 metres, the flying fox (you will understand that when u see the pics) and the grand finale - the gorge swing. We were both strapped up in a harness, and clipped side by side, they then attach a rope to us and we drop off a platform for a 53 metre freefall, before the tension of the rope kicks in (nearly breaking sarahs neck) and you swing in the middle of this gorge!! it was amazing!!!! onlyprob was you had to walk out of the gorge, in 36 degree heat, and it was a tough climb!!!
we are back off to botswana now, for a couple of days chill out!!
all the best everyone!!!
xxxx
