Right sorry but we couldnt add a journal entry from swakopmund cos of the stupid computer, so we have added it to the bottom of this - please read on ......
Hello again, have just arrived in Windhoek - The Capital of Nambia!! Its an actual city with shops and internet and stuff!!! But it is nestled deep in the mountains on the outskirts of the kalahari desert! We left our campsite in Ghanzi in Botswana at 6 am and we have only just arrived!!! so we are both very tired!!\
Have had a good few last days, cant remember when we left the last journal point, livingstone i think. Anyway, we went back into botswana and had a couple a day just chilling out by the pool and trying to initiate our tans - something which had not happened previous to this week!! But since we left there it has been blazing sunshine every day - yesterday we were in the kalahari desert and our campsite was 37 degrees in the shade, so we jumped on to an old truck and went to a wicked reservoir in an old quarry, it was sooooo nice to cool down and do some exercise, playing with the frisbee and rugby ball etc.
before that we were at the Okavango Delta, the worlds only inland delta, from our campsite we set off in these cool little mokoros (dug out canoes) like mini gondolas with a guy at the back of each one poling you along, it took us an hour to reach our destination - some little scrap of land which was apparently an island, where the crocs etc could do whatever they wanted!!! the toilet was a hole dug ion the ground - and we just set up our tents in a little shaded area, then went swimming in a little clearing in the reeds - although sarah spent most of it drowning me to save herself from disappearing into the reeds!!! later that evening and in the morning we did two game walks and saw elephants, zebra, some bones and skulls and learnt how to run away from lions, ele's, buffalo rhino and leopards!!! was wicked, and we both got tanned nicely in the back of the mokoro!!!
yesterday evening we went on a walk with the bushmen - these guys who live in the desert old school style - only <100 of them left. They spoke this crazy starvin marvin click language and showed us these roots that give you water - their root equivalent of viagra etc and they were really cool!
sorry bout the photos its just these computers are so slow, so i will try and put another selection of 5 on, to give you a general idea - i have over 200 and sar has loads too!!!
oh and THE CAMERA STILL WORKS!!! it dried out and all is fine fine fine!!!! yippee
we both send our love to you all and unlucky, cos we are having a wicked time!!!!!

Hello all again from sunny Namibia. We are both in a little seaside town called Swakopmund – you may recognize it as the home of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (where she had her last little kiddie!!) it’s a really cool little town and we have been here for two nights now with one to go. Its been really relaxing as we have not bothered with the extra activities, instead we have been taking in all the scenery and eating beautiful food.
We have had 2 meals here and we had 1 out in Windhoek. We ate at Joe’s Beerhouse in Windhoek, and both of us had a Zebra steak – and it was LOVELY!! Kind of a beef crossed with venison. We ate at Napolitana, I had 3 calamari squid steaks with chips and Sar had a lovely lasagna, then last night we ate at the lighthouse restaurant where I had oryx steak and monkfish with potato rosti it was lovely!! Sarah had “the lighthouse burger” standing about 15 inches tall full of everything you can imagine – and then stereotypically topped it off with a hot choccy pudding!!!
Before we arrived here we spent 2 days at Etosha National Park (where they film Animal Park in Africa!!), it has been the best game viewing of the whole trip!! The campsite was really really nice with 2 big swimming pools that we spent most of the day in (in between our game drives) – the coolest thing though was their floodlit waterhole, you could just go down and sit on these benches most of the way round it, and just watch all the animals come and drink from little antelope to elephants to rhinos to zebra, it was really amazing!! See the pic
Again we’re sorry about the lack of photos – the comps here are so slow, we can only ever put a couple on – hopefully a few will be up today though
Love from Pete and Sar
