Hello all from a rather stormy but pretty Kiama!! We are about 2 hours down the coast from Sydney at the moment and the heavens have just opened up and it is absolutely pouring down outside!!!

We arrived in Kiama this morning on the train ( when it was boiling hot!!) and have had a nice stroll around the town. it is a really nice little place - very Australian i guess. For the first time since we landed i think we have felt like we are actually in Australia.

Sydney was pretty much like any city - busy and difficult to find your way around, but then we did not get the chance to see much of it, as we were only there for 2 days. Despite that we made a quick dash to see the harbour bridge and the opera house. the rest of the time we were busy trying to find ways down to Melbourne.

We have looked high and low for a 10th hand old banger but they are so expensive here!!! for some shabby 20 yr old station wagon they are still fetching around $3000 - thats around 1500 pounds!!!!!!!! no 50 quid metros to be had here!!! so we had a look at renting a car for a fortnight but that came to around a thousand dollars, and finally just decided to jump on the train to Woolongong!!!

We spent a couple of nights there, a nice small city with some lovely beaches, then we headed down to where we are no on the train. our next stop is Melbourne and we have booked a nice 14hr coach journey for that one!! seem to spend our lives on the road these days!!

not really much more to tell at this stage, meeting Sarah's friend kim in Melbourne in a few days, and then Sarah's dream will come true ......... we are visiting the neighbours set!!! she cannot wait!!!!!! (cant say the same about me!!hehe, but i will go along).

Right i am off now to cook my baby octopus i have just bought!!
