Hi everyone,

Well a lot has happened since I last made it to the computer.

We have been to Sarapique rainforest which we could only access via a tracker ride for two hours (very glad I had my sports bra with me - as were the other ladies!). This was fun but a bit hairy at times. Some of the bridges were pretty slim and the tractor anfd trailor were quite large. We did some amazing trekking in the rainforest and it was nice to be so far away from anyone. It was very remote and we didn't see anyone for two days. It was fun sleeping in bunk houses and the food was amazing. We saw a lot of wildlife including snakes and tarantulas (not so thrilled about that).

It was great fun there and I would love to go back some time. Then we hit the road and travelled to La Fortuna (where we are now). The town is at the base of the Arenal volcano and it is quite an active one so we might see some fireworks whilst we are here. We got to go white water rafting yesterday which was great. We did a level 3/4 river and spent most of the time in the water being dunked by the guides. I have some amazing bruises to match my dodgy leg wound I picked up in Tortuguero (being stupid) but we have three nurses on this trip and they are really looking after me which is great. Especially as the healthcare over here is really expensive. A bottle of medicine that Fanny had to buy for her chest cost about $40 (US).

Tonight we are off the volcano for a trek and then we are going to soak in the natural hot spings. I think this will do my injuries some good- ha ha ha.
