Well, here we are at the Crown Plaza Hotel at Heathrow at the start of our great adventure. We had a trouble free journey down and are looking forward to a relaxing time this evening before the traumas of queuing and security at the airport cattle market tomorrow.
We were offered 1st class train upgrades for £10 each which made for a much nicer trip. Although the tube from Kings Cross was quite crowded we had at least missed the most of the London rush hours and with lifts too and from the tube it was quite easy with heavy luggage. A cab from Heathrow to the hotel was quite expensive, but very worthwhile compared to first finding and then waiting for a bus, which with two fares would have been almost as dear as the taxi, without someone to help with the cases.
