G'day maties!! hows everyone didlin? still enjoying the snow!?! though with recent events our weather has taken a turn for the worse too! we're in Byron Bay at the mo - lucky nowhere near Carnes (though thanks for the concern Bird!) we're just staring to get some of the rain here but not that bad! been having a fab time! Byron is amazing! have to stay - think we love it as much as Queenstown! Yes that much!!! its a small-ish town on the east coast - the most eastly point of oz actually - (god save the Lonely Planet guide!!) the weather heres been gorgeous - so nice that on Sat the most we could handle is 30mins in the sun! and nosh couldn't even manage 5!! but our hangovers didn't help the matter either!! we went for a day trip on Sunday to Nimbin - the drugs/ free love/ hippy capital of OZ !! we went on 'Freds Happy Coach'! which was so funny! Fed was crazy - found someone who's driving is even scarier than mine!! he spent more time dancing then watching the road! we stopped at water falls and rocks etc but the best part was Nimbin. Tuls can't believe your Auntie lives there!!! wish id know! would have said hi! everyone warned us about the crazyness that was Nimbin but you just can't imagine anything like it till you've been!! it was like being in a film! you step off the coach and there are all these locals sitting along the street and the first person we saw said 'you buy drugs? you buy weed, very good drugs'!!!! just everyone is stonned and selling drugs completely openly!! its so mad! we got offered everything under the sun and then some!! everywhere you go theres signs saying 'Jesus loves hemp'! whats even wierder is that not only is it illegal here.. but Nimbin has its own Police Station!! we just couldn't work it out!! on the way back was sitting next to a couple and we figured the police must just give lots of parking tickets or something!! it was comedy anyway - def an experience! thank you all for my birthday messages! i had a lovely day! it was realy nice weather so we had a beach day - there was a market at Nimbin the day before so the girls bought me two shell knecklaces for my birthday and treated me all day! we went body surfing and me and nosh just kept getting taken out but was realy funny!! then we went for a mexican which was yummy! i had a salad thinking that would be nice and light before i went out - it turned out to be the biggest salad in the world!!! was the yummest thou! the girls embarressed me making the whole resturant sing happy birthday to me - but got ice cream and a sparkler!!then we went round some bars and to the local clun - Cheeky Moneys! was well funny and fell into bed at some stupid hour... of and a tramp told me that he like my new dress!! well its always nice to get a compliment!! we're leaving here in day or two and heading to surfers. hope that your all ok ....keep in touch and ill post some pictures soon much love g xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
