A fabulous if exhausting weekend has been spent enjoying the best wines that WA has to over in the Margaret River region. Margaret River is a relatively new wine region at about forty years old. It is also quite small only producing around 1% of all of Australia's wines but producing 14% of its premium wines. So at Margs its definately quality over quantity. Breaking the journey down to Margaret River by staying in Busselton overnight on Friday we arrived at our Margs accommadation to torrential rain. Thank goodness that our afternoon's activities were not going to have us outside. After four wineries, a chocolate factory and a cheese factory we were fully indulged and ready for an evening painting the (small) town red. The best steak in the world was consumed at Winos restaurant which also has a comprehensive wine list of 700! After all that yummy food and drink on Sunday we stopped at Busselton on the way home to stretch our legs along the 2kilometre jetty. The sun came out especially and it was a perfect end to a fantastic weekend.
