From experience I believe that the Thai are pretty organised in regards to tourism. On the other hand their ability to communicate their organisation isn't on par and you just have to trust your not going to be stranded or missed out. Well our trust was definitely tested at 7:35 this morning when we were still sat outside Burger King the dodgy end of Koh San Road.
Luckily a few minutes after a Thai woman came running towards us yelling Cambodia and I've never been so relived! After a four hour drive to the border we were chucked off mid nap to cross over into Cambodia. To put it bluntly, if anyone is ever thinking of traveling from Thailand to Cambodia I highly recommend you fly to avoid the crossing. It was hot, intimidating, chaotic and took a long time.
Five hours after we had been left at the edge of Thailand we were finally back on another coach. The first views of Cambodia were beautiful yet the difference in wealth from Thailand is evident straight away. We met two Swiss girls on the way and had dinner with them at a restaurant on a serene lake we stopped at.
When we finally got to Cambodia we caught a tuktuk to the hotel. We were staying at the "Okay Guesthouse" and I'd definitely recommend it. Decorated with Buddha statues and extravagant furniture it was beautiful and the rooftop pool and bar made our day end a lot better than it started. Finally in Cambodia, easy to say we definitely deserved that beer!
