Arrived not to badly jet lagged so that's a good thing. Basically am behind in blogging so the bare bones or interesting things. Venice beach was almost what I expected. Small stalls, lots of homeless. Met a guy on the pier 'Robert, Robert Blake' He was a talker lots of stories an a stack of photos of his family. He had had about 3 wives, so a lot of stories and children.

Met few people at the hostel, An israeli guy a software developer had some interesting conversations around todays society and the illusion of interaction with computers as opposed to unpredicable interaction with people. The was a pub crawl that evening as well so few local pubs in santa monica and home late.
Went to the gettys center. Walked around with a german girl yohana. She was so much into the art and I thought it was just too nice to be inside so we did a whirl wind walk of the 'arts', and enjoyed the very calming arichtecture of the gettys center. Eveything had very natural feel and look about it. Apparently it took 13 years to design and build.

Got a bus to vegas, on the bus met a man was in the vietnam war, 3 tours 2 weeks before his last tour ended shot down. Four bullets in his back, poilet with a boken back and shot. Four days before they where found by the vietcong, carried to the DMZ and then they said one of you can live. The poilet was in a worse state so they shot him and left. He was a HUGE McCain supporter as McCain had helped him get his benfit which wasn't a lot either. Didn't think too much of Palin but interesting conversation.
