Gerard's Travels
Once again I didn't eat breakfast this morning. I'm sure that surprises you just as much as it interests you. I'm sure you love reading this blog about my wonderful travels around Europe for the status updates about my breakfast habits. Yeah right. But my banging on about it has its reasons today; I didn't have breakfast because I was going on a chocolate tour of Brussels this morning, and who in their right mind would take up valuable stomach space with breakfast when chocolate samples from chocolate shops in one of the leading chocolate cities in the world is on offer? Not me, and even if you're reading this and I don't know you, not you either. So today I got up - with a lot more vigour than I did yesterday I might add (also added to extend blog length) - and got myself ready to scoff my face and horrify the makers of That Sugar Film, which I'm not even sure existed on the day that this blog describes, but thanks to my super lag time in writing, I can make that reference for you. You're welcome. I headed down to the Grote Markt, which was pretty much the epicentre of everything (certainly tours), and found a little chocolate shop right in the corner where my tour was purported to start at 9:00am. I was a little bit early arriving (compose yourself), to the point that I was beginning to question if this Viator app I booked through was all it was cracked up to be, or at the very least if I had the right day. There wasn't anybody else congregating at the front of the shop, and the shop wasn't even open! There were some people inside though, so I figured it couldn't be that far away from opening and I decided to wait. Doesn't say much for being early though; lesson learnt for next time I think about being on time
