day 9 the train journey wasnt bad atall.we shared a sleeper cabin with a couple of danish girls who were cool,or so we thought; after meeting up with them in varannasi we soon discovered they more than odd..still we feel so much more comfortable here and met loads of fellow travellers, the hotel was a great atmosphere, more like a busy family home. the restauranteur was called Dada(which means elder) and he was a saint, quite the humblest of men and a very sweet man,he was fond of us and we were undoubtedly fond of him. We met some Gangsta from south london and how strange it is to think that here we are here in India, right by the Mother Ganga and the home of the Siva God(of smoking..)with totally different ideas about this place and the reasons for being here. but actually, like everyone here were all after the same one thing.. Today is our last of 3days in Varannasi(old name Banaras)or as Mr K,our tour guide, and ourselves say "we go bananas" so the next stop for us is Nepal.
There are many israelis here who are very friendly and knowledgeable, and today a crazy guy from OZ checked in and he advised us to do some trekking whilst we are there.seeing as weve made such good time on our travels across india, the thoughts are definatley in the pipeline. iv been writing alot and taking hundreds of pix so will constnatly be updatin when i get the chance.
day2 in varannassi and we awoke at around 5am to enjoy a boatride on the Ganges river at Sunrise, and then after some breakfast took a rickshaw around the many temples here in the spiritual city.it was very nice, were being conservate on the cash front and learning to starve ourselves hah. this is bascially our last chance in india, as we dont plan to stop in gorahkpur, gonna try to cross the border into nepal straight away. will blog-in soonx
