Hi all for the last time!! Eventually arrived home 2 and a half weeks early but hey!! I arrived at Rio with about 300 pound left so went straight to airport to change my flight for later in the week, however flights were all booked up till mid Feb so it looked for a while like i would be stranded in Brazil with no money, however on my second visit to the airport a day later i thought i"ll try the" i"ve been robbed and have no money" which worked and BA upgraded my flight for only 30 dollars and i was able to leave on the Wed night! So that meant i had 5 days in Rio which was cool!! Now Rio to me has the potential to be the most beautifull city in the world, it has the best beaches, an awesome climate, top nightlife, wonderful backdrop of mountains and the sexiest people especially on the beaches. The only problem is it also has 4.5 million people living in vavelors (slums) which are very rough and there is an awful lot of crime here. Rio is definately the most dangerous place i"ve been so far with 2 separte people from the hostel being robbed at gunpoint, but on the whole i thoroughly enjoyed it! So that is the end of my travels, as soon as i arrived at Heathrow and looked out the window a huge sad feeling came over me, but i guess i had to return to the real world eventually!!!

Hi everyone how r all u? Left Buneos Aires eventually only due to it affecting my health though, will definately go back one day, best city i"ve ever been to and met some really cool people who i will keep in touch with. Anyway left there and popped to punta de este in Uruguay, now this is place is not like the rest of their country, it is for the rich and famous of the whole of americas and the prices demonstrated that so did not spend too long there, although it has to be the nicest resort i have ever seen. So with money running low i am making my way to Rio but first stopped at Igazu falls, now I"m not one for nature and all that but this natural wonder even had me in awe today and hopefully u will see from the photos how big these waterfalls really are. So anyway still got few days here then of to Rio for final bit of trip, probably bit earlier than i wud like but have spent far too much!!!!!! addios everyone and hope to c u soon take care x

Hi everyone, happy Xmas and New Year. Have just arrived in Argintina, Mendoza to be presise. Just checking out prices to climb Aconacgua and i think it will cost me at least 800 dollars cos u need permit and everything so think i might just settle for a 3 day white water rafting excursion instead! Just bought my first meal, a huge steak to be precise and it cost me less than 2 pound, now thats better! Chile was far to expensive to be travelling around it was over 4 pound just for a macdonalds! Anyway only thing i liked about Santiago was the nightlife as had a couple of mad one with couple of aussie blokes from hostel but not a great fan of the rest of city it was just like any other big city. Anyway will leave u all now i"m sure ur all out partying or reading this witha mighty hangover after partying. take care j x

Your trip sounds very exciting - seems to be getting better and better. I still think your dad could give you a run for your money on the bike but sounds like you might be a chip off the old block yet. Hope you got your electronic birthday card. Who will you be spending Christmas Day with? Everyone is coming here on Boxing Day so if you ring you can speak to them all. Lots of love and miss you. Mum

Hi everyone just landed in Chile Santiago. Spoke to someone on phone from work and i think he said i passed my part 2 but it was a poor line so i hope i heard correct!!! Anyway had fab time in Cusco after trail, it was a proper party town which i was able to experience once i was well again! Met a cool Austrian guy who seems to be a magnet for smart women. Anyway travelled to Bolivia with him and we did the death road together which was probably one of the best adrenaline rushes i think i"ve ever had it was well scary at times it involed mountain biking from 5000m down to 1000metres on a dirt track with no barriers and a few hundered feet drop of the side, no room for error!! Anyway after that me and Gerhard (the Austrian lad have decided we r going to tackle aconacgua (the highest mountain in s america) hopefully at start of Jan. Hope u r all well and happy xmas and thankyou for ur bday wishes! miss u all x

Hi everyone, Just woke up after a long but absolutely amazing 5 days. Now if i am going to reconmend anyway to visit after doing this trip then it will be for people to do the Inca trail, going by train to Machu Pichu is cool but actually trekking over ther mountains to it was just something else. There were 16 people and 21 porters in are team and everyone got on well together. I won"t bore u with details of the trip but basically it was the most stunning scenery i could have ever of imagined, lots of people kept using the comment, "i feel like i"m in Lord of the rings or something" it was just magical, i doubt my pictures have done it justice. The onbly slight dampener was ther fact the train company were striking and the onlky way to machu pichu is by train or tyhe 4 day trail, so to get home we had to do an extra 20 mile hike just to get home after already doing 50km over 4 days, so last night was a late one and i slept like a baby once back at hostel.
