Hello! We are the Cameron Highlands at the moment, sat in an idyllic Swiss looking guest house, surrounded by beautiful hillsides. It is a really nice rest bite from the heat. It is stunning here, very calm and peaceful, a far cry from the last couple of days in the cities we have visited. We have been to Satun - not much to say about that place, it was a tad sleazy! However we were made to feel like celebs. Everywhere we went everyone had a bit of a stare, almost like they hadn't seen westerners before. That said I don't think some of the kids had. They stared us up and down - almost amazed by us?! Next we went to Panang and spent a couple of nights there. It's a small island that's quite dirty and hectic but there was plenty of drinking done there. We (the girls) had the pleasure of something the locals call "ladies night". This meant well got to drink all night without spending a penny - LOVED IT!! We all got a little merry and thought we were out of the film Coyote Ugly. Lets just say the bar saw some proper shapes thrown! We were lucky enough to have a roof top garden at our hotel, so we took full advantage with a few drinks, good music, and great people. It was decided to watch the sun rise, I (Kate) made it till about 5.00am, where as gem didn't grace her bed at all. HARDCORE!! So that brings us to now in the Cameron highlands.
