Rachael and I finish packing the truck with all that we need. Packing light is not the order of the day as we have a double cab truck for the three of us (Aulden is to join us later in the trip).
We leave Windhoek at about 10am and drove up the B1 (Tarmac road!) to the Mashara Lodge. It is a 5hr drive to get there. Rachael and I spent the drive getting to know each other. It turns out that we are actually really really similar. We have a lot of similar feelings, thoughts, issues(!) etc. As we are going to spend so much time together this is a really good thing.
Mashara is was absolutely beautiful and the cabins were enchanting. Well worth the drive. As we are waiting for dinner we are join on the lawn by some an Imparla and some Dik-diks. Amazing to see game so close and completely comfortable with our presence.
