Well I would say that Canberra was quite disappointing, but to be honest I wasn't expecting too much, especially over Easter. I arrived on the Thursday afternoon a bit late so didn't really venture very far that afternoon. I did make one major discovery though - the pool, spa and sauna were closed for 'routine maintenance'!!!!! I was extremely disappointed as this was my back up plan for the couple of days I was here!

I got up late on Good Friday (I think the first time I have slept past about 8am since getting here!) and walked up to the War Memorial which was really impressive. I then walked along the road towards the lake and Parliament House where there were several other war memorials, it was quite interesting really.

I then walked back to the hostel via the lake which gave really nice views across to Parliament House and the National Library with lots of trees that were just starting to turn different shades of orange and purple! I sat by the lake until it started raining so went back to the hostel to watch a bit of TV and use the internet.

Thankfully on Saturday everywhere was open, so I checked my luggage into storage and went shopping for a few hours.

There are a lot of fountains and monuments and statues etc around Canberra which make it quite a nice place to wander around but there really isn't that much to do, so am glad I was only here a couple of days!
