Our blogs have been few and far between at the moment, mainly because we've just been bumming around the beaches and not doing any sightseeing as such! Since Krabi we've been to Ko Samui for 2 nights and had fun jet skiing at the beach. Then we went to Ko Phagnan a few days before the full moon party. Our accomodation here was amazing, a big bungalow with big terrace and hammock, lovely pool and restaurant and right on the beach with swings hanging from coconut trees. Needless to say we didn't leave it until the day of the 'main event'!
We headed over to Hat Rin, the beach the party is on at about 10pm, got there about 11pm as we're so far away and met up with our Canadian friend Kyla. Out came the flourescent paints and the buckets of rum and redbull for $2 and off we went to meet up with some more friends on the beach. We'd heard about the paints and the buckets and the craziness before but nothing could have prepared us for the amount of drug induced zombies farting about all over the beach! It's crazy, there are so many people and even little sleep areas with mats out on the sand. We were ready to head back about 5am amongst many many much worse off than us - probably all English and on their hols!
We spent the next day swinging in hammocks and generally chilling out then got the ferry to Ko Tao. This was not a pleasant ride, it was really rough and Mike (along with about a third of the rest of the baot) was stuck throwing up in the toilet for most of the journey, me not being able to check up on him because I was having my own mental battle trying to focus on the horizon whilst the crew came passed handing out plastic bags and toilet paper to people left, right and centre!
Finally we got to Ko Tao and thought we'd found a place to stay until we got into an argument with the owner when we wanted to leave 'cos stuff in the room didn't work. She refused to give all the money back and swore and gave me the finger (b****!)!! Managed to get away with half what we'd paid and found somewhere else. Now we are preparing to do some diving tomo. Mike is doing an introductory day and I am doing a scuba review as I haven't done it for ages. Hopefully we can write about adventures with whale sharks in the next blog. Until then ......
