Our penultimate blog!! Unless anything really exciting happens between now and next Thursday!!

We visited Penang after Langkawi but this was very dull except for the food so lets skip that! Then we got a fabulously luxurious bus with TV (including the Jungle Book - King Louis' song is so catchy!) and reclining seats and everything to Kuala Lumpur and stayed the first night in Chinatown. This was cramped beyond belief, the street outside the hotel, Petaling Street is famous for its bargains, bags, dvds, etc but you can only move about an inch at a time which gets a bit claustrophobic and very frustrating. Anyway, we then moved out of here to another hotel in chinatown.

The next few days were spent getting up late and shopping. The amount of malls and shopping centres here is crazy, and they are massive too! All christmas presents are nearly complete! We visited an indoor theme park which was great for the kids but again, was really just an elaborate shopping centre. We also went to the mini planetarium, the orchid/hibiscus park and the bird park which was nice.

In between all this we needed to book somewhere else for the last 2 nights and as it was our 2 years together decided to splash out at one of the posher hotels near the main shopping/entertainment district. Went to the cinema and saw 'The Golden Compass' which was alright but a bit drawn out and ate in Planet Hollywood.

Got a bus to Melaka today after finally packing in all our shopping, the bags are getting really heavy now and extra ones are just appearing in my hands as if by magic. I think our allowance on the flight home is 30kg so we still got room for more!

Melaka has Portuguese/Dutch history so we plan to sightsee a few of the er sights tomorrow then on to Singapore the day after. We'll write the last blog from there. Enjoy the photo albums. There are 3 new ones.
