Apologies for the massive delay in blog progress. Didn't wanna write without photo evidence, but now that that problem is solved we can continue wher we last left off.

We are now in Cambodia but will leave that till the end and fill you in on the rest of Vietnam. After Hoi An we moved down the coast to Nha Trang where we were told to avoid the sailing club because ethanol is used to spike the buckets of drink, and we'd heard stories of people waking up face down in the jungle with no wallet. But anyway, we had a good time here, went on a tour where we visited some of the islands, did a bit of snorkelling but again it was raining heavily that day. Fortunately, the crew members formed a band on our boat and we were entertained by their fabulous vocals and shocking dancing (see the video - the guy in the green shirt looks like a Vietnamese Steve Buschemi!)

We also visited the hot springs and mud bath while in Nha Trang, which was fun then went to Mui Ne, another coastal resort but this was really disappointing and had loads of dead fish and crabs all over the beach so we left the next day to go to Saigon.

Saigon was much nicer than Hanoi. We did all the usual sightseeing places; Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum which housed some horrific photos of victims from the 'agent orange' and other chemical attacks, plus we even managed to fit in a couple of games of bowling at the local plaza! And as if this wasn't enough we picked up some vouchers entitling us to $20 free at one of the posh hotels casinos. So in we walked to the five star resort in flip flops and shorts and took our positions in front of the pokies! Mike one $7 at one point but we thought it'd be a bit cheeky to cash it in and leave so we carried on, until, like true gamblers we lost! Never mind, not bad for a freebie.

We also did the Cu Chi Tunnels from Saigon; these were used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War to escape the Americans. We were able to go down into the tunnels which are really small, in order for anyone aAsian to get through and anyone else.. not to. There were also displays of the types of weapons and traps they used but these are best described by looking at the photos.

Ran in to a couple more friends we'd met along the way in Vietnam and also someone I went to uni with, small world and all. We decided to go to Cambodia via boat along the Mekong on a 2 day, 1 night trip which sounded nice but turns out the company we booked with preferred wer spent 7 hours travelling around on a bus and just one hour seeing stuff on the baot. However, the next day we got an express boat into the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh and the scenery on the way was great.

Spent a couple of days in the capital but will do another blog about that as we go back there tomorrow. Now we're in Siam Reap, home to the famous Temples of Angkor which are stunning (and also place of filming for Tomb Raider.) We bought our pass and hired a tuk tuk driver for the day to take us round all the major temples, Angkor Wat, Ankhor Thom, Bayon and of course Ta Prohm where the massive roots of giant trees are completely taking over the ruins. I kept trying to get some pictures with monks in but it seems that they're not so holy as first thought. I caught one on his mobile, one having a fag behind a tree and a bunch of them playing naked by a lake while their robes dried!

This morning we got up at 4:30am and went back to Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise, with about a million other eager beavers and carried on around the massive site to see some of the smaller temples.

Tomorrow we get the bus back to Phnom Penh, and then we'll be going to the beach resort of Sihanoukville for a couple of days before returning to Phnom Penh again and flying out to Bangkok.
