Hi Guys
In Mission Beach i did a Skydive. Oh my god that was so scary. Stupidly i booked the afternoon skydive so i didnt have to get up early but what a mistake, I was awake early anyway and just thought about it all day. At 1pm this lady came to get me, there were a scottish couple doing the skydive too in the mini bus so got talking to them. They both were excited and didnt feel scared at all. I couldnt believe this my belly was in knots. We got to Tully where the plane leaves and i was a nervous wreck asking questions after questions. We had to wait ages and i must have gone to the loo about 6 six i was so scared. Eventually the dive masters came and unlucky for me i had the git of the bunch. He was scaring me something stupid. First he handed me the harness and didnt say anything, i say what do i do with that and he says havent you read the instructions? Well there wasnt any instructions at all the paper i had to sign was basically saying if i died i couldnt sue or anything, but if i am dead how i would be able to sue i dont know but anyway. He then sorted my harness out and told me what i had to do when i came out of the plane. He then said if you see me go past you that means you have come off me and you dont have a parachute but i am ok because i have one. The couple felt really sorry for me because at this point i was nearlly crying because he really was playing on me being so scared. We got into the plane and this is a tiny plane, you have never seen something so small. Going up i was petrified the plane was shaking so much and we were getting higher and higher and i was thinking what the hell have i done. Anyway the scottish girl started to look really nervous as well which made me feel better about how i was feeling. He then started tieing up my harness to his but left a couple and said it is ok we have two out of three fastened we should be ok but i have a chute so that is all that matters if we come undone. WHAT? Right at the last minute and i mean right at the last minte he fastened them the door on the plane was opening when he decided to fasten me up. I did have tears in my eyes by this point but i didnt cry. The scottish guy went out of the plane and i just saw him fly off to the left and down. Next minute the guy was shuffeling me forward to the door, my heart was beating so fast i was so scared. But then soon as i fell out of the plane i thought it was fantastic, we were spinning around for a while, i was travelling at 200mph or kph cant remember which and all the time i was smiling my head off. I fell from 14000ft and it took 60 seconds to get to 4000ft where the parachute then opened. I have never been so relieved and disappointed in my life. Relieved because i was alive and the chute had opened, but disappointed because the freefall was the best bit. I can remember just falling and i kind of pictured one spot of land and it was getting bigger and bigger and bigger, in the back of my mind i was thinking please dont let me die haha. I have to admit the floating down was quite relaxing you can see for miles. Although the guy kept trying to scare me which he accomplished by spinning me round. He had loosened the harness and i didnt know he was going to do that so that frightened me. All in all it was a brilliant experience i am so glad i did it. The first thing the guy said to me when we landed was how was that? i replied it was fantastic. He then said would you do it again?? my answer to that was NO WAY once in a lifetime is more than enough hahahehe I dont know i probably would do it again but i guess it would probably be more scary the second time around because you know what to expect and if something is different i can imagine being terrified.
Lots of Love
