Well~! there is a lot to say in this blog before i forget it ! So first i shall begin with tubing.
TUBING- was a delightful activity that ended up with us staying in vang vieng for seven nights! but it was good fun, we met some cool guys and girls from stowe, and when we werent tubing, we were having curries, and watching friends.
Tubing was without a doubt the most expensive part of my trip, although the days in hoi an are close.
But getting there was a bloody nightmare, first, we took a four hour bus to the capital vientiane, said goodbye to laura, sophie, ed and henry, and then pproceeded to take a "vip" bus to danang, in vietnam, where we could then skip to hoi an.
The only problem was that, we were crammed at the back of a full government bus, over the engine, and our seats wouldnt recline....but the bus was supposed to last 24 hrs with few stops! It was close to the hot ssteel boxes the thais tortured the POWs in in bridge on the river quai.It was maddening and seriously annoying, but eventually we got to hoi an, the town of tailors.
HOI AN- the first thing we did was take a trip off to our tailor to be measured and pick out our fabrics for our siuts, and no I did not buy any s***ty three striped adidas black tie! the siuts i have are actually wearable. and for two of them includin tailoerd shirts cost me about 80 pounds, not bad!
after that mossy watchd films in bed, coz hes lazy, and me ned and cece went out for a four course vietnamese dinner, which was seriously good. And when we werebnt tailoring or eating, we spent the days on chins beach, which was without a doubt the best beach ive been to. pams, white sand, long, good sun, and the fish restaurants were incredible, for three pound an entire grilled fish and chips, with sauces, and good mayonaise~!
And alas it was then time for abnother bus journey, which this tyime was amazing, the views were good, and each person got a sofa bed type thingy, and to make things better, we had die hard on as well, my fav film, and i actuallly thought before we got on the bus tha that would make the trip.
So now we are in a little costal town called MUI NE,- and the plan hgere is to get a nice beack side aparetment, which we have, and then tomorrow, we are either going to sledge on giant sand dunes, or we are going to go fishing, hopefully for our dinner, some nice big fish.
I have already noticed that the people in vietnam so far, despite hagling and trying to sell you more, are actyually nicer thasn they are anywhere else, and the beaches here are incredible, the best ive been to for sure!
Unfortunately, the internet everywhewre here is s***e, so i wil not be able to upload any more photos till i return home really, but they will be good ones, and you wil be jealous im sure!
after mui ne, the next stop is SAIGON, and then ill be off to cambodia, though without mossy i fear, as he wants to meet his mates in time for the full moon party, which i have already done, so ill stick with ned and cece, see what happens, and ill be home before you know it!
Love you all and will see you soon! xxxx
love george xxxx
