View over the harbor, Antalya. Staying at the Hotel Argos in the old sector of the city - wonderfully picturesque area. That evening meandered past the shop fronts. Stopped for dinner at a restaurant overlooking the harbor.

Our guide Gokum, at the entrance to the Ihlara Valley. Walk down 350 odd steps to the tree-lined valley with a small, fast flowing creek. Onto a restaurant for lunch. Stopping at a large kervansaray on the way to Konya. A city that appears more workplace and much less touristy.

Fairy towers in the Red Valley - Kizilcukur. Day 5. Visit to the tourist & stall-holder busy towers. Then onto the village of Guvsin, followed by lunch at restaurant Koy Evi - with it's warm homemade bread. Tried 2 places for a bite to eat that evening. 2nd one little better than the first and unable to provide a cup of tea as had run out. Can't win em all.

Preparing for the ballon flight. The balloon flight was totally amazing, the pilot great. Approximately 90 others in the air at the same time. The Cappadocian landscape and the way people lived in caves incredible. Walks through valleys, coming across fruit and drink sellers in the oddest of places.

View from the very dated Hotel Akyüz in Ankara. The tour has begun. Walking to have a quick look at the Topaki Palace 1st garden and visiting a local fruit and vege market. Onto the Blue Mosque. Shoes off and in. Not as blue as the name would suggest. Off in our little, but very comfortable bus on the longish first day journey. Lunch at a Turkish wayside stop - squat toilets, for those who needed it. Visit to the salt lake, a karavanseri and onto Goreme.
