We woke around 9 and discovered that the window wasn't such a bonus as we had been feasted on by Mosquitos in the night. Waiting our turn to use the two showers shared by the other 20 people in the adjacent closets, we eventually got ready and made our way to our free walking tour. Our guide Elana was great she was the first Russian I had seen smile, and hada story and a joke to tell about every sight, no one else apreciated her jokes so I made sure I laughed extra loud at everything she said, but I think she might have thought I was simple. during the rest stop we tryed a local drink, which was basicaly soda water with a syrup but it was ok and a lot cheaper than anything else. After the tour we visited our favourite restaurant mc d's for an ice cream. After sitting in the park for a bit we decided to goto the zoo so got ourselves a picnic from this shop which was like being in the olden days, basically there where a load of large ladies behind the counter and lots of shelves filled with everything you could ever want, you went to the counter gave them your shopping list and they got it for you, or in our case you pointed at things, and directed the large ladies left and right and up and down with your hands, it was a bit like a game but i didnt think the ladies where enjoying it. We got to the zoo and i managed to get us both student tickets for just £6 unfortunatly they didnt have a diplomats discount. We found a bench next to the cheater cage and ate our lunch which turned out to be a bit of a lunch lottery, We had half a loaf of bread (no butter),a pastry filled with some kind of wierd tasting paste, a pastry filled with lemon, and a muffin with mystery ingredient. Most if the zoo was filled with animals you wouldnt normally see in a zoo like everyday birds, hedgehogs, mixe, and my favourite a wild cat! (Tom cat to me and you). The best thing was the polar bears I pushed my way to the front elbowing the little Chinese people that seemed to be everywhere and sat for ages watching them, one of them took a liking to my Fanta ( one of the polar bears not one if the little Chinese peeps) he climbed the rocks and was trying to get my bottle through the glass which drew a big crowd and made a great photo. All in all best zoo ever!
