... After a crap night sleep, I was awake at seven because the room didn't have any curtains only nets. So when the sun came up, the 2 massive window let loads of light in and I couldn't do anything about it. We are going to Reno today - this is the town from the film Sister Act!
We had our free breakfast at the hostel, the miserable receptionist ordered a taxi for us. We had to rush our breakfast as the taxi arrived early got our stuff and headed out. The taxi driver was a talker, he went on a little bit. I'm sure he went a long way around aswell - but i didn't fancy walking this journey again. We were originally going to get an afternoon bus, but we decided to get up early and leave this ghetto. Sacramento really isn't one of the places I would visit again.
The bus journey was about 4 hours, we drove through some national parks. It was really scenic, we arrived in Reno, the worlds smallest big city! The main strip was a short walk away from the greyhound station. We checked in to the Harrah's hotel I asked for a high floor room so we would get a good view. Floor 22 was pretty high, thank god they had an elevator. (Lift!). We didn't get a view of the Main Street and the tacky lights of Reno. But we did get a great view to the south and the mountain ranges on the east and west. Should get some good views when the sun rises and sets!
We headed down to the casino for a bit of a gamble. Played on a few of the slots, and I made a little bit of money. Nothing exciting. We decided to take walk and headed down to Circus Circus. We played some computer roulette tables. I lost $60 within about 20 minutes. Feeling gutted that my number 29 didn't come up. I quitted then. However Chris was doing really well. At open point he could have walked away over fifty bucks up! Except it didn't last and he ended up breaking even. I did try and get him to walk.
Reno is tiny compared to Las Vegas, and there wasn't many more hotels to visit. We had the buffet dinner at our hotel, it was so cheap and the food was really nice.
We had a bit more of a gamble before calling it a night. Was loving the free beers that you get served for spending your money in the casinos. You tip the waitress and she keeps coming back asking if you want drinks! Don't mind if I do.
It was nice to have a posh hotel! Tomorrow more gambling!
