Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo, has been completely different to anywhere we've ever been but it has been exciting and enjoyable nonetheless. It has the same characteristics to any other major city; a tube system, different districts etc.
The week got off to a brilliant start as when we went to board the plane we got told you will be pleasantly surprised with your seats. Confused, we showed a boarding pass to the air hostess and she told us we were upstairs in buisness/club class, happy days. Whilst there we got fillet steak for dinner, endless free drinks and a service second to none.
Whilst in Tokyo we tried to fit as much in to a small space of time as possible. We've been to the famous fish market, seen numerous temples, gone up the Tokyo Tower and eaten Japanese food.
In the neighbourhood we we stayed we stook out like sore thumbs to say the least. We're in a completely Japanese location with little tourism. Hence, we got a lot of looks, Sarah in perticularly.
Tokyo Tower was like the Eiffel Tower, just smaller. Still it provided great views all over Tokyo, including a view of Mt. Fuji.
The fish market was so busy and we nearly got run over by several electric cars but the fish there we're bizarre to say the least and we now know how big a tuna really is, massive.
We have also seen numerous temples which are all the same just some are bigger than others.
Jet lag has been horrible though, adjusting to the time difference has limited us somewhat which has been a shame but we like to think that we got alot done.
Our highlight of the week was eating at a traditional Japanese restaurant. We dont know what it was that we ate, hopefully it was pork. The chopsticks we're difficult to use and the 'sake' tasted weird but it was a brilliant experience.
Over and out
