Made it home last night. Crazy 14 hour ride from Missoula Montana, through Glacier National Park. Hit some really crappy weather just over the border and it didn't let up until Calgary. It feels great to be home; but it also feels good to have had the adventure.

Feelin' hot ... Hot ....hot!!! 38 degrees coming across the desert. It turned my hydration pack into a hot water bottle. What amazes me is how tough, courageous and resilient those people were that traveled the California Trail. Coming across the US in emigrant covered wagons with their families, animals and barely enough rations. Elko is a town 4,500 pop. Not sure what the draw is to this place. But it's a nice oasis for a break on a hot trip.

We left Santa Rosa California at 6 AM the plan was leave out HWY 12 onto the Interstate 80 But the GPS , Chris has affectionately named Jill. Took us out HWY 128. What a crazy, scenic route. We arrived here in Nevada at 12:28. It was starting heat up. It was 36 degrees. Coming through Tahoe State Park was very scenic. We came through on the Donner Party Pass.

Drove out to Bodega Bay this morning to have breakfast at The Tides Wharf. A couple of Harbour seals entertained us.
