Hello

Last night we went walking around to find somewhere to eat and found a nice hostel, so we checked out the rooms and theyre realy nice. We stayed at the hotel last night and got our money back from the Hotel for the second night. We have moved to the Hostel this morning. The Hotel wasnt quite what we were hoping for it was ok but we were hoping to use the swiming pool and gym facilities, and they were closed for renovations, so it wasnt realy worth the extra money.

Last night when we were checking out the hostel they Directed us to Mei Mei's a cafe that specializes in local cuisine and help for travelers. They have folders there that tell you all about the border crossing into Laos, the busses that will take you through, and more information than you can shake a stick at about what to do before you leave china and what you need to take with you.

After we had eaten in the cafe we took a wander through a night market. I bought Garath a pair of flip flops and a necklace with a cockrell on for his birthday, as hes born on the year of the cockrell. Im gonna go buy him a cake later, but he doesnt know about that! hehe!

Were going to some nice park in the city today. We might go see some wild elephants in the jungle tomorow, you take a cable car through the top of an area of jungle where they are supposed to be. Theres plenty to do in this province though its all quite spread out and may take a while to get to some places. So we might head to Laos in a couple of days and miss a couple of the temples and waterfalls that are here, weve seen a few waterfalls and tons of temples already.

As were in a hostel now we might be on skype later if you would like to wish Garath a happy 29th birthday. Bless the old biddy!
