Our next two stops have been Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, both big cities for three nights.
We had heard mixed reviews about Kuala Lumpur, but we really loved it! It was like a little taste of home in some parts, with big western shopping centres and traffic not as hectic, but within 10 minutes of walking you're back to a very asian city with chinatown, street food... Our hostel was incredible too, best one we've stayed at so far, it was a 28 bed dorm but in this huge spacious room with sofas down the middle, really sociable. You got your own pod in the wall with a double bed, mirror, lights and plugs, and the showers were so powerful and actually warm!! Plus it provided a free buffet breakfast in the morning.
We shopped for a whole day, saw the petronas towers at night, went up the sky tower to look at the views and went to the batu caves. We were only there for two and a half days but we feel like we did the city justice- indian food was really good too!
We are now on our last afternoon in singapore, our flight to sydney this evening has been delayed by two and a half hours so we're just waiting around.
Singapore is amaaazing, i've never seen anything like it, so modern, high tech and clean!!! Walking around is so interesting. We spent an evening at marina bay and saw this incredible light show on the river, a film video was projected onto the water spraying up from the river. We also went up the marina bay sands hotel and visited the famous infinity pool (only guests were allowed to swim). Aaand we went to the zoo (voted best in the world).
We are both sad to be leaving asia, its been the best two months. Sydney and fiji are going to be so different, so expensive! But we're excited :)
