Beach, boat, beer and breakfast.

Breakfast on the beach eating eggs and bread was a great way to start the morning. We then went to the pier and got on the old, wooden boat. I have no idea how it floated and it was started by a battery just sitting on the deck and an old motor. We had around 45 minutes until we reached the coral reef. This meant in the water with snorkel and go pro.

I got in the water and tried to snorkel a little. I wasn't very good at it and could only last a few seconds. I got tired quite quick so grabbed a life jacket to help me float. Most of my time was spent taking photos on the go pro and trying not to stand on a sea urchin. Soon it was time to get back on the boat and head to bamboo island. On the boat a few people had scratches or bites from the water. I was happy to be unscathed.

Next the boat headed to bamboo island. The island was small, sandy with a shack in the middle and a beach volleyball net. As we were getting off the boat, it started to rain a little. I had a bit of a swim before heading to the shelter to watch the volleyball. After a little while the rain stopped and we had lunch. We had beach bbq which included chicken, salads and bread with some fruit at the end, and I can't forget beer :)

After lunch it started pouring down with rain. We were all huddling in the shelter but I was getting cold. I decided to head back to the boat to grab my towel and when I got into the water, it was warm. So I got my towel and as I was about to climb the ladder back down the guide started to move the boat to re anchor it. So I had one hand on the boat, the other with my camera and towel, trying not to fall in. After this I got down left my stuff at the shelter, grabbed a beer and went into the water. The other group was in the water playing spin the bottle with vodka. A few of us hung with them drinking beer in the rain and the warm water until it was time to head back.

We jumped back on the boat and a few people slipped because it was wet. We headed back to shore with some 3-4m waves rocking the boat. Most people were scared but I was loving it so I sat up the front and kept drinking beer. When we got back to the harbour to get off the boat seemed a bit too rocky and hard so I just jumped into the water and swam to shore!

After the boat trip we chilled at the hotel drinking coffee and warming up until dinner time. For dinner we went to monkey Republic which had a wide range of local and western food. I couldn't help but get a chicken burger, although I soon regretted this when he chicken was more deep fried than at kfc! After dinner and sinking a few beers we played a game of pool in which I sucked! The second game was closer but I pocketed both the black and white ball so lost :( a few of us then got singlets. We headed back towards the hotel but not before being offered some drugs by a guy on the street.

After a quick stop at the hotel we headed back to the beach for one last drink. We watched the fireworks and men dance with fire sticks. After a drink we headed back to the hotel to grab some sleep. Another border to cross tomorrow and a long bus ride!
