Today was very much a relaxing day. All 3 of us have been working pretty hard with not much downtime so it was very much deserved. Adam had been up early due to jet lag and had already been down to brekky by the time mum and I got up. Adam headed out for a walk and after mum and I had breakfast we went and met him and walked along the beachfront. One of the things that surprised me was the lack of advertising on the hotels. Apart from a small sign at the front of the hotels, there are no big signs up high or on the beach side of the hotels.
Beautiful hotels, gorgeous waterfront and lovely beaches, although I have read the sand here is imported from Newcastle of all places. Even managed to get mum to take her shoes off and walk along the water edge. We wandered back to the hotel via the shops but before too long I was ready for the pool so Adam and I headed back and left mum with the phone in case she got lost. When we got back to the turnoff to the hotel, I said to Adam "text mum and tell her left at Tiffany's because otherwise she will get lost"...(I was right, she said she wouldn't have realised where she was).
We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool, enjoying a cocktail and doing a whole lot of nothing. I haven't picked up a book in months so was nice to be reading again. Evening cocktail reception came by and we made sure we enjoyed a few more cocktails before getting ready to head out for dinner. Tonight we decided on Cheesecake Factory because mum has been looking forward to it for ages. There was about a 30min wait on a table, so many people around.
Decided on 2 meals and an appetiser and it was still way too much food for the 3 of us. Poor mum couldn't even fit in her cheesecake that she has been dreaming of for months. So a good way to end a day of relaxation.
