After finally drifting of to lala land I was abruptly brought back to reality with my alarm clock reminding me that yes it was three am and yes I do have a flight to catch, I sprung out of bed and I was of to new york. One very boring five hour flight later and I had touched down in the city where dreams are made. Whilst waiting for Lucy's flight to arrive I had to remind myself that JFK probably wouldn't be to thrilled if I broke out into song and dance as a result of my over excitment. Lucy arrived according to plan, we hailed our taxi and we were on our way to manhattan, the centre of the world. The hotel was everything we could have wished for, modern and extremley accesible only five blocks over from time square. Although lucy and myself were exhusted to say the least there was no way we were going to spend the night in our hotel. We headed out to time square just for a good look around and yes it's true in time square you literally feel like your in the middle of the world. Our five days had began and it was going to be a whirl wind visit but we were determined to fit everything in. Day one, bike riding through central park, the Met where we were lucky enough to see piccaso....the current exhibition, and the empire state building at night, which takes ure breath away. On day two we visited the devastating ground zero,Walked across the brooklyn bridge, visited the infamous streets of cheap bustling china town, wandered the streets of sweet little italy, shopped in the young and up in coming soho and finished the day of with a picnic in central park for dinner. Day three shopping shopping and more shopping, followed by a failed attempt to go to broadway(ask me later). Wanting to make our selves feel better for completley failing at getting broadway tickets we took our selves out for a very nice dinner where we ignorantly ordered sweet bread (also known as pancreas) for our entre. The last day we rose early and set out to take a trip on the staten island ferry where for free you go right past the statue of liberty and get to view the entire New york city skyline, exhausted we made it back to the hotel in time and we were off to the airport. Goodbye NYC and Hello the united kingdom.....Let part two begin.
