We finally left Montanita on Monday and made our way down to Peru. Everything were working fine. The bus was driving us from Ecuador to Pero stopping at each immigration, which are 5 kilometre apart. Problem started at Peru as the immigration officer told us that Lee's passport hasn't been stamped out at the Ecuadorian immigration. So we had to get our backpack out of the bus and go back to the Ecuadorian immigration. We made it and finally came back to Peru. So technically we now have been twice in Ecuador and twice in Peru. We were walking along to the peruvian immigration at about 10pm when the police stop us and told us it was too dangerous to walk at night because of bandidos, they ended up giving us a ride to immigration. They also took their opportunity to tell us that we should not start walking until the sun is up. So we end up being stuck at immigration, having a laugh with the officer. Thanks to that, when a taxi came by, he asked him to take us with him and drop us at Thumbes.
From Thumbes, we made our way to Mancora where we arrived at 2h30 of the morning. In keeping with priorities, found somewhere to have a beer before finding somewhere to have a sleep. Luckily we found the hotel at 3h00 when the all town light went out (it is usual but the time varies). We have now been there for 2 days, sunburn again. Beautiful place but time to move on.
Hasta luego.
