After little sleep, we finally arrived in Byron at 9am on the 24th April! We had to finalise a few things with Peter Pan's and then we checked into the 10th best hostel in Oz - pretty good few days ahead expected... There was only one thing to do next - go to the beach! We both noticed that this was the Oz equivalent of Pai in Thailand, one of our favourite places so far - it's very chilled out, quite hippy and very quirky! We arranged to meet Glen and Sam - our friends we made in Thailand - as we were out here the same time! That was pretty wicked and over the next few days it was great catching up, reminiscing, swimming, having a lush $5 burger and chips meal, body boarding, gooning it up and generally having a grand time. We're gonna spend another day with them in Noosa too. When they left a day before us, Cath and I walked to Byron lighthouse - the brightest light in the Southern Hemisphere. It was such a nice walk with cracking views and we just made it to the lighthouse in time to catch the sunset! Was one of the best sunsets/views yet! We saw the bay, a jagged mountain range, spectacular and colourful cloud formations and the reflections in the still sea. What a way to end our four nights here in one of our favourite stops yet hey! Time for another long bus journey... See you in Noosa.

Uncle Paul/Auntie Carolyn Catherine/Frazer. Got your postcard today, many thanks. Lovely surprise. Will give it pride of place among my other treasured postcards received over the decades - all 5 of them nearly (decades that is, not postcards!) Really pleased you've had such a fantastic time on your travels, done so many memorable things and been to so many wonderful places. Look forward to seeing you when you get back to good old Blighty xx
