News just in...Fraser and Gordy are still alive!!
We are deeply sorry for being a pair of lazy b******s, but have got soo much to tell you, if we can remember that far back, here goes:
We packed up our car "The b****", and left sunny Perth for Albany to spend a week at Fraser's Aunt Stella's. Had a brilliant week getting pampered and full of great food, went out with Fraser's cousin John, drinking all his Aussie mates under the table!! Did a bit of sport: Indoor beach volleyball and a very small bit of cricket (we were both s***, but this did not upset us in the slightest). After the week, It was time for a drive that changed our lives...No really, this was?an emotional drive! Albany to Adelaide, where we were to meet up with Nick and Joe. It took us four days of constant driving non stop,?across the nullabor plain. All there was to see was desert, Bush, Dead Kangaroos and a couple of eagles... And the longest bit of straight road in the world. Tired, sick, and ready to cut each others throat we made it to Adelaide...Thank God!
We met up with Nick at the new hostel, decided there wasn't much going on in Adelaide so a week was enough. It was a nice enough place but had no work for us, so thought Melbourne would have a bit more oppertunity.?And off to Melbourne we shall go.
?Packed up "The b****" picked up Joe, and the four of us started our road trip to Melbourne, we broke it up to two days, having a night at a campsite. Had a great laugh at the campsite, however we are never allowed?to set foot in or go?near it again as the owner gave us all a talking to for being too noisy and pitching the tent in the wrong place..Oops! We are over it now. The second day was the drive across "The Great Ocean Road" it was ok, a nice coastal road, but we didn't have the best weather for it.
Arrived in Melbourne, really big city, so got lost for about 2 hours. Headed for a suburb called St Kilda (The place to be), when we arrived?in St Kilda?we didn't realize how close the F1 was?so the place was buzzing. Had a bit of a nightmare finding digs but got a decent enough place for a night. The next day we moved into a complete s*** hole (The Coffee Palace), as it was all we could get.
An excited Gordy was champing at the bit to go to the Grand Prix, so we all bough tickets for the race day. This was an amazing day, the sun was shining, and the cars were brilliant, couldn't believe how loud they were!! A great laugh had by all, as you can see by the pics. We moved out of the hole, and into Base Hostel, where we are to this day.
Thought it was about time to find a job, so decided to try a career in sales..Oops! We lasted a record breaking day in our job. We were knocking on old lady's doors trying to sell "Green Energy" AKA Bulls***! Our bosses were an 18 year old who thought he should be Royalty, and a 19 year old little p**** who thought he was God himself, but in this little boy couldn't lase his own boots. We all were very very close to laying him out! But we didn't.
Time to look for another job. we hunted for any sort of labouring job (Definately NOT Sales). A couple of weeks later and we were in luck, a fax came through at the hostel and before it made the notice board we had the job, happy days. Started on the 11th of April!! Working away for 3 weeks in the middle of nowhere, hard work but?a good laugh as the guys we are working with are a great bunch. Still working with this firm putting up warehouse shelving units, hope to do this for another month or so to save up the cash for the East Coast.
Base Hostel is a really social place with lots of goings on, have met so many sound people here of?many nationalities. Loving Melbourne. We might be getting in a flat soon as it works out cheaper than the hostel.
Thats all from us for the now, Fraser and Gordy having a brilliant time (Still best buddies after 5 months, can you believe it?) we will be in touch again with more news and?stories?from Oz. Love to all back home, Take care Fraser and Gordy x
P.s Fraser would like to say a special thank you for all my Birthday wishes, had a great day even tho it was first day of work...But made up for it at the weekend! Thanks again x
