The next funny creature is the blue-footed boobie. No joke, the picture is real! And the blue feet are the assets of these birds - when trying to get a mate, the males dance in a funny way, showing their feet to the females. The one with the bluest feet wins. If I hadn't seen them, I would believe these birds are just a comic-book invention, but they are real, and they don't mind us coming really close, so I could take a lot of cool photos.

As funny as they look, the boobies are really great fishers. They circle 20-30 m above the sea, and when they spot fish, they dive down, reaching a speed of 100 km/h, dive up to 5 m below the surface, get their fish, and get out of the water again - and everything in seconds. Even more amazing is to see this when they hunt in swarms - up to 50 boobies may dive at once when they spot a school of fish. Incredible.
