I spent a very pleasant two days with my hosts Dirck and Jennifer in Catllar, then on 30th it was time to leave to catch the pre-booked European Bike Express back to Leeds. The route I took back was much more direct than the way I had come, and it was also mostly gently downhill. The coach arrived more or less on time at about 1300 and Jason was there again to help load the bikes into the trailer (see photo). I had been warned that coming back on this coach was not always as pleasant as going out, as some cyclists boarded hot & sweaty without having the chance to shower! Luckily that wasn't noticeable on this trip, so I had a good if boring journey home, arriving at Colton, Leeds about 1600 on 1 October, after 28 hours on the coach! I could hardly open my front door due to all the junk mail, but it was nice to be home again.

The total distance of this trip was about the same as my Land's End to John o' Groats ten years ago, but one day longer and a lot hillier!
