hello all, today we mounted an expedition into Myanmar (or burma). this may seem like a simple task, but when you factor in all of the complictaions inherent to everyday life here this kind of complicated manoevuer required tactical planning and buddist calm. the town of Kaw Thaung is an interesting shambles full of people, mopeds, boats and, well, rubbish. two enterprising lads showed us around their friends market stalls, but also took us to the impressive buddist temple. it was a definite 'experience' of the real asia. the immigration was a shack on stilts in the river, between the army outpost (a rock with machine guns) and the thai immigration (a slightly larger shack). anyway, we survived. we're now making for the tropical island of Ko Tao to chill the hell out. again. lots of love bob and frank xxx
