Well arrived from Perth on the 31st January to be met by Dale & Colin, it was good I recognised them after 13 years.
The next day we picked up there grandson Gordon who is 4 and travelled up to Smiths Lake from Sydney. It's a beautiful spot just before you get to Forster. You are surrounded by lakes. Unfortunately the first 2 days of arriving here it poured with rain.
Finally on the 3rd it stopped enabling us to get out for a very wet walk, but it was still very beautiful.
We have been out everyday since I have been taken to many different beaches. We have paddled and built sandcastle 's. Got to say Gordon is a very good boy, he doesn't wake till after 7.30 and is a very happy child who entertains himself.
Not saying we are not aware we have a little one with us but he is an entertainer.
My favourite trip was taking out Colin 's little boat cross the lake to the sand bar. It was amazing as a gap had been made in the lake to let the water out to the sea,( stop floods) so there was the sea and lake meeting which made strong current but shallow water to walk through. You could also walk along the sandy shore where the Pacific sea stretched ahead.
Once again I have been well looked after, with not as much exercise as I should so clothes feeling tighter than ever.
Leaving on Wednesday 8th February I was hoping to get a flight from Newcastle to Gold Coast but they wanted 160 dollars for an hour flight, so I am going back with Dale & Col to Sydney on Wednesday they are going to kindly drop me at the airport.
So I can get my original flight from Sydney to Brisbane then get a train to the Gold Coast to catch up with Simone Shane & there two little ones.
Well all worked in perfect Dale and Col dropped me at airport after a 4 hour trip to Sydney at 13.15 straight to check in, had my hand smacked for not listing !!!! But they put me on the 14.05 flight. Arrived at 14.20 ( hour difference) train station at airport got straight on train now on my way to Robina hour 40mins where they are meeting me at 16.40. I would call that perfect travel.
Car, Plane, Train
After Brisbane I am looking into going back to Phnom Penh for about 3 weeks as have heard of a couple of opportunities that I am interested in but not sure if I can commit long term.
I would love to go home but A) it's cold at home. B) I promised kids I would see them again this year
So not sure when if I don't commit to anything in Cambodia.
