Test Run
An overnight flight from Australia via Auckland to Hawaii was of course too long & uncomfortable leaving us both happy that a room was ready when we checked in to the Imperial Hotel mid morning. Renovations & drilling in the room next door meant we couldn't have a sleep so headed out for a stroll around the shops & tasty brunch in the lovely warm weather. A late afternoon rest was followed by a swim in the sea which was also perfect temperature. Another delightful dinner at Bills Sydney restaurant which we had enjoyed so much before & it didn't disappoint - would highly recommend this place & especially the serving sizes which are more to our taste than the enormous American ones! Spent a few hours exploring the American Army Museum in an indestructible old battery right at the beachfront. This was a great tribute to the local servicemen of Hawaii many of whom were of Japanese heritage making for interesting stories during all the wars but particularly after Pearl Harbour. Lunch in an open restaurant beside the seaside watching surfers, catamarans, helicopters, parasailing & swimmers all enjoying Waikiki's lovely weather made our brief visit to Hawaii a delight.

Pat Barter Enjoy!
Jeanne & Al Yes, wish we were there too - all looks good and the ocean inviting. It's too cold for swimming here, for me anyhow. Maybe picking up Prado today. Love J xx
Helen Dawes Envious of the brilliant blue skies. Safe journey
