We arrive in Quito around tea time, find a hostel which turns out to hold pretty much all UK travellers. One lad mentions that there is a decent curry house round the corner, matt and I look at each other and nod! We have been craving something like that for a long time! So, we head out for a Saturday night, English style... Masala and a few beers, then to the sport bar for more beers, to the Irish bar for pool and more beers... you get the idea! Was a fun night, lots of locals and travellers mixed up in one little area.
Next day, a little hungover we have a relax day, hit the supermarket and get some supplies in, bacon sandwiches all round!!
Third day we take a walk around the old town, we catch a bus which is very similar to that of the undergroud at rush hour, push yourself on and get pushed out! The old town is very scenic, huge cathedrals, big white houses and steep lanes. Funny thing happens in one of the squares, sitting down having a rest when a girl comes up with a friend and points at her camera, so I assume she wants me to take a photo of her and her amigo in the square... but no, she points at me and gives the camera to her friend and sits next to me for a few cosy pictures!! I should start charging next time. She walks off with a big smile on her face, good deed of the day done! We then decide to walk back to the hostel, but as we are to find out, it rains nearly every day mid afternnon, and it really rains, it starts to tip it down so we divert into the Irish bar to continue our South American pool champinship, rain stops about 4 hours later and we can go home.
