Having crossed the border at San Antonio in Venezuela, all very easy considering what people had told us, we then got a taxi to Cucuta. We were told not to hang around this city as there was nothing to see and lots of scams etc, so we jumped on the next bus to Bogota on yet another overnight bus. We reached the capital on Sunday morning and checked into a small hostel in the colonial part. However, we then realised that the city was mainly closed until Wednesday, museums and bars etc. So we decided to take a quick look around and take a bus the next day to Santa Marta on the north coast. We did find a pub in Bogota, called Classic Beer Pub, so naturally we went in and sampled the ales! Roll on the Caribbean coast...
